Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta, “Change of Course” Recap

Mardi Gras, beefcakes, and monster-in-laws. Here’s what happened on last night’s LHHATL episode:

In case y’all forgot from last week’s episode, there was a bit of trouble going on in “newlywed” paradise. Joseline called herself ignoring and holding off on Stevie J after finding some exposing pictures of other females in his phone. Although, I’m not sure how well that was working out since she refused to leave their house in the midst of the drama. But was I the only one that noticed how many times Joseline called Stevie her “husband” instead of calling him by name? Was this just another act to convince us all that their marriage isn’t fake? Hmm… but beside the point, Stevie used his “deny, deny, deny” strategy regarding the naked pics to lie his way out of trouble and into Joseline’s panties.

Once again, Mimi still manages to keep the topic of her and Nikko’s sex tape relevant by bringing it up once again. But this time, she did find a way to have a new topic of conversation. Apparently, she’s not too fond of Althea, one of Nikko’s ex-flings, being back in the picture and she doesn’t trust her one bit. But Mimi’s suspicions began to make even more sense. She seemed to be experiencing a bit of déjà vu when she discovered one of Nikko’s lipstick-stained t-shirts while doing laundry. Just like Stevie found every explanation to cover up his lies to Mimi, Nikko did the same thing. I guess we know what type of guy Mimi is into. She realized that she couldn’t trust Nikko any more than she could trust his word. That’s when the big question was finally asked: Did Nikko leak the sex tape? But I know Mimi can’t possibly be that naïve. We all know what Nikko was up to. How could she not?

After the incident that occurred at Benzino and Stevie’s with Althea and Karlie, Karlie thought it would be cute to send out a picture comparing Benzino’s “small Vienna sausage” to Joc’s “sum-sum”. You know, that picture we all caught wind of not too long ago. However, Benzino claimed that his beefcake was photoshopped to look smaller. But I can’t say how true that is. I’ll let y’all be the judge of that one.

With Rasheeda away in New Orleans with Karlie and Karlenna, Kirk was left to take care of their two boys. While getting into it with Rasheeda’s mom over the issue of her still kissing the baby on the mouth, Kirk somehow slipped up and revealed that he had done a DNA test on Karter to see if he was really his baby or not. It was at that moment that Kirk realized he had messed up. Rasheeda’s mom called her to tell her what Kirk had done, but Rasheeda refused to let it ruin her trip. Yet somehow, he still managed to do that when he popped up in New Orleans completely unexpected to apologize and with hopes to save their marriage. But we, as well as Rasheeda, all know that someone can only say that they’re sorry so many times before they just start to sound like a broken record.

Scrappy and Erica met up for lunch to have a little catch-up session. Scrappy admitted to Erica that he got with Bambi because he saw that Erica had moved on and found someone to make her happy. He also informs her of all the things that had been going on in his life, including Bambi’s miscarriage. After reminiscing on the good points of her and Scrappy’s relationship, Erica began to question things with O’Shea. Was he only using her for her money? Was he getting a little too comfortable? Questions with no answers. Although, it was clarified a little for us when, after storming out of Erica’s place and taking all of his things with him after an argument, O’Shea ran out of gas. And guess who he had the audacity to call for help? Erica. The nerve of some people. But I don’t know if I’m alone on this one, but I thought it was so cute to see Erica and Scrappy getting along and forming a friendship with each other.

Was that photo of Benzino really photoshopped? Is Kirk really going to change his ways? Will we ever know the truth about the sex tape?!?
