It’s been reported that taping of Love & Hip Hop New York has come to a standstill due to a few cast members going on strike for more money. Sources say reality tv stars Yandy Smith, Joe Budden, Erica Mena, Olivia Longott, Rich Dollaz and Tahiry Jose reportedly pulled a no-show at a scheduled day of trailer-shooting while a few of the other stars won’t be returning to the show at all.

“VH1 might have to move the show to another city because they’re going to find out it’s not that easy to cast hip hop dudes from New York.
Consequence, Jen the Pen, Winter Ramos and Rocky Thunda are not coming back to show, they’re all being replaced. VH1 is not trying to give in on the strike, because if they do. The ‘Love and Hip Hop Atlanta’ cast, might follow and do the same.”
Other details emerging say that contract disputes caused half the cast to no-show at the taping. Other than the cast wanting as much as double their last contract, some are dissatisfied with how they were portrayed last season and they want more say in what footage gets aired.
I suggest that the cast members stick to their guns. Reality TV is so tricky and if producers and the network are going to make a killing off of you, at least have a little more say so in how things are handled.
