"Love is Blind" Contestant Renee Poche Suing Netflix For Pairing Her With Carter Wall, Despite Concerns That He Would Harm Her

“Love is Blind” contestant Renee Poche is suing Netflix for pairing her with Carter Wall, who she says is a violent addict.

According to Variety, the season five star is suing the streamer and production company Delirium TV for knowingly pairing her with Wall despite knowing that he was homeless, financially unstable, and a raging drug user and alcoholic. The show is centered around singles seeking love without seeing each other face-to-face initially. Participants engage in conversations and develop emotional bonds in isolated pods, relying solely on communication. To progress to the next level, couples must get engaged. After the engagement, they meet in person, go on a vacation, and eventually navigate the challenges of planning a wedding in their own hometowns.

Sadly, Poche says even after expressing her concerns, she was left alone with Wall, who allegedly threatened to assault a cameraperson in Mexico. Even more terrifying, Poche claims the show’s producers threatened to sue her if she didn’t get engaged despite warning her that Wall could not be around guns or else he might harm her.

Poche points out that production subjected her to an extensive background check, which Wall must’ve also undergone to get on the show. Therefore, Delirium must have been aware of Wall’s concerning behaviors and mental health challenges.

After the filming concluded, Poche quickly ended her relationship with Wall. After publicly discussing her negative experience with “Love Is Blind,” Delirium launched a private arbitration against Poche, alleging that she breached her nondisclosure agreement. Now, the company is pursuing $4 million in damages from Poche, despite her only earning $8,000 for her participation in the reality show.
