Love Island USA’s Serena Page has been basking in romance and loving the post-villa life that she has created with her boo and season 6 winner, Kordell Beckham. Despite the new couple leaving the Fiji villa just two months ago, Serena and Kordell are in no rush to make significant life changes.
During a recent interview, Serena opened up about the progression of her relationship with Kordell, making it clear that they aren’t interested in fast-tracking their connection.
“We’re able to just come out and slow things down a bit,” Serena said.
She continued, “Living together is not the next step for us. My finger’s still empty. No apartment. There’s none of that. The next step would be engagement… and we need some time for that.”
Before entering the villa, Serena’s life looked a little different. According to the 25-year-old Houston native, she described herself in the past as a “workaholic,” who dedicated her time seven days a week as a media planner. But now, since her run on the reality dating show, Serena has embraced her newfound fame and lifestyle.
“I was a workaholic,” Serena added. “I’m definitely traveling more now… I didn’t travel much at all before.”
As if adjusting to her new lifestyle wasn’t already overwhelming, Serena also stated that she has to get use to having boyfriend.
“I mean also having a boyfriend. Haven’t had one in a minute,” the Love Island star said.
Additionally, despite Serena confirming that they’re taking things slow, the couple recently appeared on Jennifer Hudson’s talk show and recalled the first time the “L word” was said in their relationship. Hudson asked who broke the ice first, and Serena quickly chimed in to reveal that it was Kordell.
“The first time that he said it, he like slipped up and said it,” Serena said. “Before I could respond, he sprinted out of the room.”
She added, “He ran in the room and called Miguel…he said it and was gone within 3 seconds.”
Nonetheless, Serena is focused on the present, including her friendship with fellow Islander JaNa Craig. If you’re unaware, the two ladies are preparing for an exciting weekend in New York City for a Bottomless Brunch pop-up in the East Village in partnership with Truly Hard Seltzer.
