LSU’s Angel Reese has officially announced her decision to enter the 2024 WNBA draft.

Known for her significant impact on the court, Reese has become one of the most recognizable names in college basketball. Her stellar performance helped LSU claim its first national title, earning her the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award. This year, she played a key role in LSU’s journey to the Elite Eight.

In a conversation with Vogue released Wednesday, Reese expressed her satisfaction with her collegiate achievements, including winning a national championship, being named Southeastern Conference (SEC) Player of the Year, and receiving All-American honors.

“I’ve done everything I wanted to in college,” Reese told Vogue. “I’ve won a national championship, I’ve gotten [Southeastern Conference] Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be a pro — and to be one of the greatest basketball players to play, ever. I feel like I’m ready.”

Starting her career at Maryland, Reese then transferred to LSU, where she solidified her reputation as a top player. Over 69 games, she averaged 20.9 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, achieving 61 double-doubles — ranking second in LSU history only to Sylvia Fowles.

This season, Reese garnered accolades as a second-team All-American by the Associated Press, a first-team All-American by the USBWA, and secured a place on the Wooden All-American team.

Reese also made headlines off the court as “Bayou Barbie,” leveraging the new rules allowing college athletes to earn from their name, image, and likeness, with partnerships including Reebok and Beats by Dre.

Reese is projected to be a first-round pick in the WNBA draft.
