Drake and Ludacris had a bit of a hip hop feud back in 2011. If you follow rap closely, you may recall a time when Big Sean and Drake accused Ludacris of stealing Big Sean’s “Supa Dupa Flow” aka “hashtag rap.” Drake also took this flow from Big Sean but it was easier for him to gang up on Luda, I suppose. In retaliation, Ludacris dissed Big Sean and Drake in his song “Bada Boom”. After the dust settled Big Sean and Ludacris made peace, Drake on the other hand never responded publicly, instead apologized privately, saying that he didn’t mean it and that Ludacris was “God Body”. Oh, but guess what, there’s more!
Ludacris sat down with The Breakfast Club where he spilled the tea on his issues with Drake, which also included him having sex with Drake’s then girlfriend. Ludacris tells The Breakfast Club that there may be some truth to Drake’s verse in “How Bout Now” where he says “I used to always try and burn you CDs of my new shit / You be like “who’s this?” / I be like “me, girl.” / You be like “oh word, true shit?” / Then ask if we could listen to Ludacris / Them car rides made me feel like I was losing it / Yeah, made me feel like I ain’t have it like that / I was average like that” .
He says that there was a girl in Toronto that he slept with that happened to be Drake’s girlfriend at the time. Ludacris says that when he slept with her, he had no idea. Luda says that he and Drake have since squashed everything but he didn’t respect Drake coming for him publicly but apologizing privately. He felt Drake should have apologized the same way.
I for one agree with that sentiment. Nothing is more annoying than people who drag you in public but apologize in private. Watch the complete Ludacris interview below.
