A Lyft passenger who was asked to wear a face-covering by the driver went on a racist rant. After not getting his way, the passenger unleashed multiple racial slurs, and it was all caught on video.
According to TMZ, the racist passenger got in for his Lyft ride on May 28 in Reno, and things quickly went left as the passenger was asked to wear a mask.
The passenger complains because he doesn’t have a face covering. He goes on to say he doesn’t believe the coronavirus is real. The passenger had no compassion since the driver explained to him that he has family members who are infected. The passenger then starts making fun of the driver’s accent and starts saying a chock full of racial slurs after he couldn’t get his way.
The man that looked to be in his 50’s, thought he had a “binding contract” with the Lyft driver to take him home, but the driver ends the ride early, asking the man to get out of his vehicle and things kept getting out of control.
The passenger called the driver a “candy a** f****” and threatened to “crush your skull right now.”
The driver eventually threatened to call the cops, and that finally got the man out of the back of his car, but not before threatening to take his complaint to Lyft.
TMZ reached out to Lyft, who reportedly stated the rider had been banned, and they’re making sure the driver is alright.
A rep told TMZ, “The behavior shown by the rider in this video is despicable and has no place on the Lyft platform. Lyft is committed to maintaining an inclusive and welcoming community, and discrimination is not tolerated.”
