23-year-old Pittsburgh rapper, Mac Miller,  has been extremely active within the #BlackLivesMatter movement and is calling out those who claim to support but in reality are doing nothing to impact change.
On Tuesday Miller took his passion for the cause to social media and stirred up much controversy. The conversation heated quickly with topics surrounding racism, politics, reverse racism, and lack of public support for the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
“White people, reverse racism isn’t real. Racism describes a system built to keep a race or ethnicity away from success and evolution. We are all not the same. We are all different, different cultures, and all of them beautiful. The whole “everybody is the same” is weak.”
Mac Miller sent a total shock wave through Twitter space with with the tweet: “Dear White People who listen to rap music… What have you done for the #BlackLivesMatter movement?”
Miller’s question to the public was met with mixed reactions from his followers but this did not stray him away from speaking his truth. Miller also touched on the prejudice nature of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. “Just don’t forget about the ridiculously large amount of humans who are down to have Donald Trump be president,” Miller tweeted. “There’s good people and doodoobuttheads it’s cool to be a good dude. Just please don’t elect this motherfucker man.”
