Days ago in Seattle, Grammy-Award winning rapper Macklemore’s nanny was the victim of a frightening burglary while caring for the rapper’s children.
According to Seattle Police, the home was broken into during the early hours—around 1 AM on Saturday—when a caller reported she had been “attacked with pepper spray” and that the intruders remained inside with the three children.
The nanny explained to police she had “put the children to bed” when she saw “two men entering the property,” with one immediately spraying her. In a surprising twist, she recalled that “one of the men began helping her clean the spray out of her eyes.” She described the helper as “fearful.”
Investigators found that “thousands of dollars worth of items” were stolen, including “jewelry, watches and shoes,” as well as the nanny’s mobile phone. In a brave act, she “claimed to have bitten one of the burglars before they ran out of the house.” Video footage reportedly captured the men fleeing the home.
It remains unclear whether Macklemore was home during the incident, and the rapper has not yet commented on what was stolen or the nature of the items taken.
This unsettling break‑in marks a frightening ordeal for the nanny and children, highlighting the vulnerability even high‑profile households can face. The nanny’s courage in biting one of the assailants and the odd humanity shown by the fearful burglar who cleaned her eyes make this incident all the more remarkable.
