On Thursday, Madonna, 61, revealed to her Instagram that she has tested positive for the coronavirus antibodies.
“I took the test the other day, and I found out that I have the antibodies,” she said in her clip. “So tomorrow, I’m going to go for a long drive in a car, and I’m going to roll down the window, and I’m going to breathe in, I’m going to breathe in the COVID-19 Air. Yup. I hope the sun is shining.”
Having the antibodies simply means that she has been exposed to the virus. The Center for Disease Control stated, “just because a person tests positive for COVID-19 antibodies, it doesn’t necessarily make them immune to the virus.”
Madonna captioned her video, her “quarantine diary,” “Here’s the good news, tomorrow’s another day, and I’m going to wake up, and I’m going to feel differently.”
According to People, the singer partnered with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help find an antidote for the virus. In a statement on her website, she wrote, “We need this to protect our health workers, the most vulnerable, and all of our friends and families. I send enormous gratitude and strength to the courageous first responders, medical professionals, and scientists who are protecting our communities, those suffering, and our most vulnerable.”
