Madonna Faces Another Tragedy: Brother and Former Backup Dancer Christopher Ciccone Passes Away

Madonna may have to pay up for her tardiness.

Two disgruntled fans claim the pop star started her Celebration Tour concert in Brooklyn much later than advertised. In a recent lawsuit filed in New York, the pair is alleging “false advertising” of the show’s time. According to their filing, the December 13th show at Barclays Center began at 10:30 p.m. instead of the promised 8:30 p.m. The attendees slammed the superstar for this, stating such delay is a “wanton exercise in false advertising, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices.” They also pointed out that this happened at subsequent concerts on December 14th and 16th.

Live Nation, the Celebration Tour promoter, and Barclays Center are also named in the lawsuit alongside Madonna for their role in the incorrect time advertisement. The plaintiffs assert that had they known about the actual start time, they “would not have paid for tickets.” They highlight the inconvenience caused to concert attendees, who had to contend with limited transportation options and increased costs when leaving the venue well past 1 a.m. As we know, rideshare companies are typically more expensive later in the night, so this could be a valid concern.

Several sources close to Madonna have shot down the plaintiff’s claims. Instead, they insisted that the delay was only one hour due to a soundcheck. Nevertheless, the fans are seeking unspecified damages for their suffering. Madonna’s team has not responded publicly to the suit.
