Magic is doing everything possible to keep his money long. Not too long ago it was reported that he launched his own cable network and now we find out that the Los Angeles Dodgers have been sold to a bidding group headed by the man himself.
The group paid $2M for the Dodgers, the highest amount ever paid for a North American sports franchise. The company is called Guggenheim Baseball Management LLC and includes Magic, Peter Guber, Stan Kasten, Bobby Patton, Todd Boehly and Mark R. Walter as it’s controlling partner.
“I am thrilled to be part of the historic Dodger franchise and intend to build on the fantastic foundation laid by Frank McCourt as we drive the Dodgers back to the front page of the sports section in our wonderful community of Los Angeles,” Magic released in a statement.
Congrats to Magic and company on the purchase.
