A California man was arrested on Christmas Eve after allegedly torturing then murdering his girlfriend. Saul Nava, 21, is being held on $2 million bail in Ventura County jail.
On Christmas Eve, sheriff deputies received an emergency call around 1:15 am. Once they arrived the unnamed woman was unresponsive and suffering from serious injuries. Despite paramedics doing everything possible to get the woman help, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators also found evidence that she was tortured before her death. Fox 11 reports, “Detectives executed a search warrant at Nava’s residence and seized evidence related to the crimes.”
The Sheriff Department says, “This was an incident of domestic violence, and there is no outstanding threat to the community.”
