Vem Miller, 49, the man arrested with firearms near Donald Trump’s rally in Coachella, has denied allegations that he intended to harm the former president and announced plans to sue Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco. Miller was arrested after attempting to present fake VIP credentials and being found with two loaded guns in his vehicle.
Miller says he carried the guns for self-defense, citing death threats tied to his work as a media producer for America Happens, a right-wing platform known for promoting conspiracy theories. “I’ve never even shot a gun in my life,” Miller said, rejecting the sheriff’s claims of an assassination attempt as “completely false.”
Miller, who has shared photos with political figures like Roger Stone and Donald Trump Jr., has been a vocal supporter of Trump since 2018. His friend and business partner, right-wing documentarian Mindy Robinson, defended him, saying, “He’s a huge Trump supporter. The idea he’d harm Trump is ridiculous.”
Miller has been released on bail, and while federal authorities continue investigating, they have found no evidence suggesting a plot against Trump. Miller plans to move forward with a lawsuit, accusing the sheriff of falsely branding him as a would-be assassin.
