West Virginia Man Allegedly Kills Girlfriend’s 7-Year-Old Son With A Hammer and Wounds Girlfriend, “I Just Lost It”

A man has been arrested and charged in the death of his girlfriend’s 7-year-old son, who authorities say he beat to death with a hammer in West Virginia.

According to police, Rashad Akeem Thompson, 34, “just lost it” around 2:45 am Thursday at an apartment complex located in Beckley.

Upon arrival, cops found a hammer covered in what appeared to be blood. They found the young boy’s body lying on the couch. He suffered extreme trauma to his head.

“I just lost it,” Thompson allegedly told police, according to the local report.

The criminal complaint says police believe the 7-year-old was bludgeoned with the hammer. His 24-year-old mother, Felicia Brown, was located at a neighbor’s house with heavy bleeding from stab wounds to her face.

Thompson was arrested at the scene and is being charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, child abuse resulting in death, malicious wounding, and two domestic battery counts.

He remains behind bars at the Southern Regional Jail.
