It has been revealed that the man who got punched by Mike Tyson on a JetBlue plane has a lengthy criminal record.
According to reports, Melvin Townsend III has had multiple encounters with the law. He has been convicted of fraud, grand theft, burglary, possession of controlled substances, and trafficking in stolen property.
Official court documents mention that the 36-year-old reportedly broke into a property and stole a trailer connected to his pickup truck in 2018. He was convicted of drug possession of oxycodone, and he served time twice, once for 20 months and another for 15 months.
The story came to light after TMZ reported Wednesday that Townsend was beaten repeatedly by Tyson on a JetBlue flight from San Francisco to Miami.
