Man Literally Dodges Bullet Thanks to Chain Necklace

A shooting incident in Colorado took an unexpected twist, leaving authorities in disbelief. The Commerce City Police Department responded to a call reporting a shooting, but what they encountered defied all expectations.

According to the department’s social media post, the victim of the shooting miraculously survived thanks to an unlikely savior – a piece of jewelry. The police department expressed their amazement, stating, “We’d say he really dodged a bullet – but in reality, he LODGED a bullet.”

The shooting happened during an argument when a small .22 caliber bullet was fired. The bullet could have hit the victim in the neck and killed them. But the victim was wearing a silver chain necklace that was about 10 millimeters wide. The necklace got in the way of the bullet, so instead of a fatal shot, the victim only had a small puncture wound.

The police shared a photo on social media showing the bullet stuck in the chain of the necklace. You could see some dried blood around it too. The photo was proof of the amazing thing that happened.

In their post, the Commerce City Police said they weren’t sure what kind of metal the necklace was made of, but they don’t think it was pure silver. They explained that pure silver is very soft, so they think the necklace must have been made of something stronger, like a fake silver material. They joked that knock-off jewelry might be worth considering after this.

The person who fired the gun was arrested at the scene. They face charges of attempted homicide, but the police haven’t released their name.
