A Texas man allegedly attacked a couple, fatally shooting the wife and critically wounding her husband because they voted for President Joe Biden.
The gunman, 38-year-old Joseph Angel Alvarez, reportedly ranted in emails about satanic rituals and abortion. Alvarez claimed he targeted Georgette and Daniel Kauffman partly because of the Biden flag the couple posted in their yard and a “doll of Trump” hanging nearby.
Authorities found Georgette Kauffman’s body inside her garage on November 14, 2020, and her husband Daniel, who was shot 5 times, said he managed to crawl out of his home and over to a neighbor’s house for help.
Alvarez allegedly targeted the couple shortly after the U.S. presidential election at their home in El Paso but wasn’t arrested until September 8 of this year.
Investigators uncovered emails Alvarez allegedly sent in which he shared his extremist religious beliefs and called “pro-choice” advocates the “Jewish Satanist Party” and also claimed abortions were “Jewish child sacrifice.”
Alvarez allegedly sent emails to the 902D Military Intelligence group and revealed that he targeted the Kaufmann’s home because they voted for Biden and had a Biden “flag and a doll of Trump hanging” in their yard.
