A woman pregnant with twins is now in critical condition after her partner allegedly set her on fire after the two got into an argument.
On Jan. 14, Detroit police officers arrested 41-year-old Devonne Marsh after he allegedly doused his nearly 7-month-pregnant girlfriend with lighter fluid and set her on fire. Before the tragic incident, Marsh and his partner – who hasn’t been identified – got into an argument at their home, according to video footage.
PEOPLE reports the woman is now suffering from burns on 60 percent of her body. Detroit Police Commander Michael McGinnis says the woman is in critical condition. There are no details on how the unborn twin’s health.
Marsh, who has a criminal record that includes violent crime and weapon possesses charges and convictions, has a bond set at $50,000. In this case, Marsha has been charged with kidnapping/abduction, aggravated/felonious assault and violation of the controlled substance act for the situation involving his partner, according to WDIV-TV.
