According to NBC News, a guy shot a performer at the Hollywood Wax Museum Haunted House in South Carolina with a firearm he claimed was a prop gun.
Last Saturday, Keal Latrell Brown, 39, was joined by a group of people who came to see the haunted house. After being startled by the performer, one of the group members fell to the ground, and Brown told police he felt a gun hit his foot. He “picked it up and fired twice,” shooting the victim in the shoulder, thinking it was a part of the show.
In an arrest Tuesday, Brown was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor “for knowingly giving the gun used in the shooting to a minor.”
It has been reported that Brown gave his 15-year-old a real firearm after learning that it was real. Detectives are still trying to determine who the gun belonged to and how it ended up inside the haunted house.
During Brown’s bond hearing, the performer revealed that he has not been able to work since the incident and doesn’t know when he will return. The victim claims that since the shooting, he has had trouble sleeping.
According to ABC News, additional charges may be filed against Keal Latrell Brown. He was released on a $25,000 bond.
