The man under investigation for shooting a Trump supporter in Portland on Saturday referred to himself as “100% ANTIFA.”
Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, is being investigated for the shooting death of right-wing Patriot Prayer supporter Aaron Danielson at the pro-Trump rally located in the city’s downtown area. Danielson was part of a caravan of Trump supporters and died in the street after being shot in the chest, an anonymous police source told The Oregonian.
Reinoehl’s sister, 36, who is estranged from her brother, called Portland detectives after she recognized him in screenshots posted online.
“We reached out to police and confirmed that we recognized Michael in the screenshots,” she told The Oregonian.
She chose to remain anonymous after receiving threats that their “whole family was in danger unless” they turned him over.
She said that Reinoehl is estranged from the family, having stolen from them in the past.
Reinoehl regularly posts about protesting on his social media, having posted on June 16 to Instagram, saying, “I am 100 % ANTIFA all the way! I am willing to fight for my brothers and sisters! … We do not want violence, but we will not run from it either! … Today’s protesters and Antifa are my brothers in arms.”
The father of two is currently wanted on a failure to appear warrant from June 8 after he was stopped for racing his son, reaching speeds of up to 111 mph.
In a separate incident, he is also facing the charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, recklessly endangering another, unlawful possession of a gun, and driving on a suspended license after being stopped by police with his 11-year-old daughter in the car.
