The New York man who posted photos online of the teen girl he killed has been sentenced to serve 25 years to life in prison.
In July 2019, Brandon Clark, 22, cut 17-year-old Bianca Devins’ throat because she kissed another man during a concert performance. The two met on Instagram, and not long after, she met him in New York to attend a concert on July 13. While driving back to his hometown of Utica, Clark pulled over the car and slit her throat.
The Huffington Post reports Clark recorded the entire murder. Clark reportedly tried to commit suicide, but he survived and was later arrested. “My name is Brandon, the victim is Bianca Michelle Devins. I’m not going to stay on the phone for long, because I still need to do the suicide part of the murder-suicide,” Clark said in his 911 call to police. Clark posted photos and of Devins’ body online, and the video went viral.
In February 2020, Clark pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Kim Devins, Bianca’s mother, said she wants the judge to sentence him to prison “for the rest of his life.”
“We seek closure in regards to the crime that took our beautiful angel from us by respectfully asking the court…to make sure that Brandon Clark remains in prison for the rest of his life, so that he cannot harm anyone else and inflict this horrific pain on any other family,” Devins said.
Bianca’s sister, Olivia, said she is still heavily traumatized after seeing the images of her sister’s body circle on the internet. “Many random people set their profile pictures as my sister’s death photo and went on my page knowing I would, without a doubt, see it,” Olivia Devins reportedly said. “The picture, to this day, continues to be sent to me, but I now have all of my social media accounts deleted.”
Bianca’s grandfather said that if Clark ever tries to seek parole, “you can be certain that our family will represent Bianca and will ask the reviewing board to consider.”
