Last year a strange challenge took over social media that caused people to go to the store and lick a jar of ice cream and put it back.
Now, according to AP News, one individual has been given jail time for his involvement in the challenge.⠀⠀⠀
A 24-year-old Texas man by the name of D’Adrien Anderson uploaded a video of himself, last August, that showed him take an ice cream container out of the freezer, removing the lid, licking the product and proceeding to put it back in the freezer.⠀⠀⠀
Though it wasn’t shown in the social media clip, according to authorities, Anderson did indeed go back to purchase the ice cream, which was caught on surveillance cameras at the store.
Despite his purchase, Anderson has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for the crime he committed at the Port Arthur Walmart.
Anderson has also been fined $1,000 as well as restitution to Blue Bell Creameries in the amount of $1,565 due to the company having to replace all of its items in the freezer.
Anderson has begun serving his sentence.
