A Manhattan congressional candidate released a sex tape online to highlight his “sex positive” platform.
Mike Itkis, 53, is an independent candidate trying to unseat Rep. Jerry Nadler in New York’s 12th district. He has focused his campaign on promising to legalize sex work, define consent and end adultery laws.
To drive his point home, Itkis filmed a 13-minute sex tape starring himself and adult film star Nicole Sage. The film, titled “Bucket List Bonanza,” was posted online to a popular porn site.
“If I would just talk about it, it wouldn’t demonstrate my commitment to the issue,” he told City & State about making the tape. “And the fact I actually did it was a huge learning experience, and it actually influenced items on my platform.”
Itkis said that filming with Sage was his first experience with having sex on camera. He said he is “very much an introvert” and “a nerd who doesn’t like to be the center of attention.” But, he felt making the x-rated movie was a good talking point for his campaign.
In addition to a sex positive approach, Itkis seeks to do away with child support payments. His campaign website states that “men should not be required to support biological children without prior agreement.”
