The men’s section at Saks Fifth Avenue just got a makeover, and it’s very luxurious. The new and improved space on the seventh floor of the retail landmark has transformed 15 shop-in-shops into 23 new brands in stores.
Saks Fifth Avenue’s new men’s floor debuted on Monday in Manhattan. Saks senior vice president, Louis DiGiacomo, said, “I’m extremely excited about the openness and brightness of this floor. It’s the first thing you notice when you come off the elevator.”
According to Footwear News, “A redesigned aisle path extends the entire floor, improving sight lines and flow of shopping experience. New flooring and lighting helps draw the eye all the way to the retailer’s Fifth Avenue-facing windows, which have been opened up to let natural light create a much airier seventh floor.”
The perimeter of the floor aligns with the designer’s new shop-in-shops, including brands Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Balmain, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Celine, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Givenchy, Gucci, Moncler, Palm Angels, Thom Browne, Valentino, and Versace.
Apparently, the Manhattan store is the first in the county to include some brands–meaning you can’t shop anywhere else in the U.S.
DiGiacomo says, “We have Celine’s first shop-in-shop in the United States dedicated to Celine Homme. We also have Palm Angels first men’s shop-in-shop in the U.S. and Balmain’s first men’s shop-in-shop in the U.S. featuring the brand’s new global concept.”
As the floor progresses, additional shops from designers Dior, Louis Vuitton, Off-White, and Saint Laurent Paris will open later in the year.
Saks also created area highlighter newer brands like Blk Dnm, Frame, Jil Sander, June79, JW Anderson, Maison Margiela, Martine Rose, Moussy, Nahmias, Nanushka, Wales Bonner, Who Decides War, and NSF.
As you can imagine, the space is huge because DiGiacomo says more contemporary brands will be added in spring 2023. Not necessarily in the men’s area, including Bode, Comme des Garçons Homme, Dickies, Drôle de Monsieur, Junya Watanabe, Sacai, Sky High Farm Workwear, and Undercover will all be added.
