Mar-a-Lago Neighbors Say Trump Is Not Welcomed Post WhiteHouse

With January 20 around the corner, Donald Trump will have to look for a new place to call home. It’s still up in the air if he’s going to go out nicely or dragged out by the secret service; either way, he has a few weeks to decide.

If Trump thinks for one minute, his Mar-a-Lago neighbors will be there with open arms to accept him back to the neighborhood; he’s sadly mistaken.

According to Vanity Fair, Trump declared the state of Florida as his place of residency, and because he’s made renovations to his Mar-a-Lago residence, it is believed he may plan on going back there. But if this is the case, he should be forewarned that his future neighbors have already made complaints, making it loud and clear that they don’t want him there.

Town officials and the Secret Service received a formal letter from some of Trump’s Palm Beach neighbors saying that Trump should go somewhere else. They have also referenced an agreement that Trump signed in 1993, which says he lost his legal right to live at the Mar-a-Lago club full time. The group also wants to “avoid an embarrassing situation” by asking him to leave if he chooses to move there.

“There’s absolutely no legal theory under which he can use that property as both a residence and a club,” Glenn Zeitz, a nearby homeowner who has joined the fight against Trump, told the Post. “Basically, he’s playing a dead hand. He’s not going to intimidate or bluff people because we’re going to be there.”

According to the ’93 agreement, Trump deeded Mar-a-Lago’s development rights to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and there are limitations to how the club is used.

But of course, these are rules that Trump feels like he is above. He has already repeatedly tried to get out of sections of the agreement. A spokesman spoke on behalf of Trump and denounced a document or agreement existed.

“There is no document or agreement in place that prohibits President Trump from using Mar-a-Lago as his residence,” adding the claims might be more convincing if that person hadn’t said so anonymously.
