After Boosie’s daughter Iviona responded to his comments regarding her sexuality, comedian Marlon Wayans came to the rapper’s defense.
In case you missed it, during a recent live taping of “Caresha Please,” Boosie touched on Iviona coming out as lesbian, which he does not approve of.
“I mean, she still can’t bring her situation to our house. My daughter is wrong. Well, why is she wrong? Because I don’t want it to contaminate her other six, seven sisters who look up to her,” he explained to host Yung Miami and the crowd.
This resulted in a response from his daughter, who called him out in an emotional Instagram Live. She revealed that her father once referred to her as a “gay B-word” after learning of her sexuality. Additionally, the aspiring artist accused him of continuing to speak about her sexuality in interviews as she maintained her silence.
Social media erupted with opinions, many of which were on the side of Iviona. However, Wayans believes that the internet is going too hard on the “Set It Off” star.
“U can’t paint @BOOSIEOFFICIAL as a monster. That man is father that provides. I believe him, his daughter, and God will figure this out. It took me. A second. Give their family grace and time. This is growing pain. She know her daddy loves her. That’s all that matters. He may come around he may not. But that’s on him and her,” he wrote in response to a fan calling out Boosie.

Wayans is the proud father of a trans child, Kai, who was born a female but transitioned to a male in adulthood. Wayans has supported Kai in several interviews, which is why many questioned how he could support Boosie and his differing views. However, according to Wayans, he is not quick to criticize the Baton Rouge performer, instead offering understanding.
“I understand the disposition and i will hold space for @BOOSIEOFFICIAL and his family,” he added.
