A recent lawsuit has been filed against Marques Houston, accusing him of failing to compensate the staff involved in a series he produced.
Five crew members who worked on the UrbanFlix show called Fosters Law, filed a lawsuit against Marques Houston, Christopher Stokes, and Footage Films, for breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, delayed wage payments, and unfair and unlawful business practices.
“Although each Plaintiff completed the services contemplated by the contract or substantially performed until termination by Footage Films, Defendants have still not paid any of the Plaintiffs for any of the services completed towards the production,” the suit claims.
Furthermore, the lawsuit states that the plaintiffs made repeated attempts to contact the show’s creators regarding the unpaid funds they were owed. However, the defendants consistently ignored text messages and phone calls for extended periods of time, resulting in significant financial hardship for the plaintiffs both in their professional and personal lives due to the unexpected loss of income.
Nevertheless, the crew members are requesting $85,000 in damages. Meanwhile, Houston nor the other defendants have yet to address the lawsuit.
