IMX star Marques Houston and his wife Miya Dickey welcomed a baby girl this month.Â
The singer and “Sister, Sister” actor told US Weekly that they welcomed their daughter, Zara, on December 2nd. The 40-year-old revealed that Miya chose the name because it sounded “exotic.”
“She just wanted our girl to have a memorable name that wasn’t the average name,” Houston explained.
The “Clubbin” singer and his now 20-year-old bride tied the knot last August in a private California ceremony attended by family and friends. Houston faced an immense amount of backlash regarding his relationship with Miya. Critics had questioned how long Houston had been seeing Miya before they went public with their relationship. At the time, Miya was just 19-years-old. However, Houston maintains that she was of legal age when he met her at a Jehovah’s Witness convention. The speculation surrounding their age gap is likely the primary reason the couple chose to keep the pregnancy under wraps.
Nevertheless, it looks like they are ready to share their new family with the world. Houston shared several images of the couple’s maternity photoshoot, as well as touching pictures of baby Zara.
