Married Boston Doctors Among Four Victims Killed In Connecticut Plane Crash

Police have identified the four victims of Thursday’s Farmington, Connecticut plane crash.

The crash killed both pilots and the two passengers on board. The pilots were identified as 55-year-old William Leary of Bristol, Connecticut, and 57-year-old Mark Morrow, of Danbury.

The passengers were identified as 33-year-old Courtney Haviland and 31-year-old William Shrauner. The two worked as doctors in the Boston area.

In a Facebook post, William’s brother, Ben Shrauner, wrote that his brother was “the best mix” of all their siblings. He noted that Courtney was a perfect match for his brother.

“Two really special people that are gone way too soon,” he wrote. “Will & Courtney, I love you.”

They were parents to 1-year-old Teddy, who was not on the plane at the time of the crash. Haviland was pregnant with their second child.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the Cessna Citation 560X took off from Robertson Field Airport in Plainville and was traveling to North Carolina. NBC Connecticut reports that the jet had some type of mechanical failure during takeoff.

The plane crashed into the Trumpf production facility around 10 a.m., causing a fire and injuring two employees. The employees’ injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Investigators with the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to remain on the scene through the weekend.
