Marsai Martin Set To Produce New Comedy “Queen”

Marsai Martin is set to produce a new comedy for Universal Pictures called “Queen.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 15-year-old actress and producer inked a first-look deal with the studio in February and is the youngest person ever to do so for the studio. Her next project is the feature comedy ”Queen,” through her Genius Productions banner.

Camila Blackett will write the script, but it’s not yet known what the plot is about.

Martin, who stars on the hit ABC series “Black-ish,” previously worked with Universal on last year’s comedy “Little,” which she executive produced and starred in with Issa Rae and Regina Hall. The movie grossed $40.6 million at the domestic box office.

Martin is also expected to produce an adaptation of “Amari And the Night Brothers” next year along with Mandeville Films and Don Cheadle.
