Marshawn Lynch was reportedly asleep during his traffic stop and told police that he had stolen the car.
On Thursday, TMZ obtained the police documents from the recent release incident. In the reports, cops say they found Lynch asleep behind the wheel at 7:25 a.m. near the Las Vegas strip.
The Las Vegas Metro Police noticed that the vehicle was in “undrivable condition.” The car was missing the driver’s side front wheel and rim, and the front passenger rim and tire were almost off. The streaks on the ground showed Lynch slammed into sidewalk areas continuously before stopping.
Authorities say Lynch “would speak and then fall back asleep several times throughout the encounter. The report states that Lynch had on one shoe and officers “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle.”
In fact, cops said, “Lynch stated that he was not drinking and he does not do drugs, but that he stole the vehicle.
Lynch initially refused to exit the vehicle, but after an hour and a half, he was arrested and transported to the City of Las Vegas Jail. However, Lynch continued to be uncooperative after officers received a search warrant to get a blood sample from him.
“Lynch was not cooperative or willing to comply with the Search Warrant. Corrections officers from the City of Las Vegas had to use a restraint chair to force a blood draw,” an officer said.
Lynch was charged with driving under the influence, failure to refuse/surrender, failure to drive in a travel lane, and the vehicle he was driving was not registered. Lynch’s bail is set for $3,381. He is also scheduled to appear in court in December.
