Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, says she is considering getting a new last name to cut ties with her disgraced uncle.
According to the Daily Mail, Mary, 55, released the scathing memoir, ‘Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World´s Most Dangerous Man,’ which was about Donald Trump. She called him the “world’s most dangerous man.” She now feels that the “incalculable” damage he’s done while sharing the same last name as her will have many negative connotations.
‘The damage Donald has done to this country is incalculable,’ she said in an interview with the Sunday Telegraph. ‘We’re just waiting to find out how much is irreparable.’
Mary isn’t just a family member; she’s also a clinical psychologist, who also spoke on her uncle’s relationship with Melania Trump. She doesn’t believe Mrs. Trump wants to get a divorce, although Donald doesn’t understand “affection or intimacy.”
There’s been a lot of speculation on Melania and Trump’s marriage—due to the lack of public affection. The day the two arrived in Florida after leaving the White House, she refused to stop beside her husband and take photos. She instead, with a stone-face, walked away while he posed for the cameras.
Many feel she’s ready to get a divorce, but not Mary. Apparently, her uncle is just incapable of having a healthy relationship.
‘I don’t believe he understands affection or intimacy,’ claimed Mary.
Melania’s former aide Stephanie Wolkoff said the Trump’s slept in different bedrooms and described their marriage as a transactional one.
‘Melania is counting every minute until he is out of the office, and she can divorce.” Fellow former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman also said.
Mary doesn’t see a happy future for her uncle now that he’s out of the White House.
‘This is probably the worst day of his life because the clock is ticking and he’s running out of time,’ Mary told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Tuesday.
‘The other thing I just want to point out about that speech, it was reminiscent of a video he made after the insurrection saying the movement is just beginning, which seems like a bit of a threat to me,’ Trump said.
‘My hope is that he be as contained as possible. He’s going to do whatever he can or believes he can to change the narrative, and I think we’re going to see that play out with some of these pardons in excess of 100, if I’m hearing that correctly, and some of these pardons will be quite horrific, some of them will be strategic.’
