A Maryland high school was listed for sale on Zillow as part of a creative senior prank.
The listing described Meade High School as 12,458 square feet with 20 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. Amenities included a private basketball court and a spacious kitchen and dining room. All for just $42,069.
“This nice half working jail is on sale for a steal!!! All 15 bathrooms come with sewage issues!!” the listing read. “The school also comes with dangerous unfinished sections that could cost you your life!!!”
The listing has since been removed.
Business Insider reports that the actual square footage of the school is much greater than what was listed, coming in at 384,824 square feet. District officials also feel the school, which opened in 1977, is worth quite a bit more than the students advertised.
“This is incredibly creative advertising, but we are stunned that the listers so vastly underestimated the value of this prime real estate with such amazing amenities,” Bob Mosier, the chief communications officer at Anne Arundel County Public Schools, said in a statement.
He added, “Potential buyers surely will be flocking to snap this deal up, right? This won’t be on the market for long.”
