Mason “Mase” Betha famously left hip hop in 1999 to become a pastor. Since that time, he has flip-flopped back and forth. We last heard from him musically in 2017 when he dropped the Cam’ron diss track, “The Oracle.”
Gathering Oasis Church announced the former Bad Boy emcee would be taking over the church in an interview posted to their YouTube. Mase reveals that when initially asked, he needed to pray on the decision but felt it was the right fit in the end.
“I really see this generation being turned back into God’s hands,” Mase said. “I think there’s been a major challenge with the city, like being able to direct people back to God, and I really welcome the challenge.”
