Maskless ‘Karen’ Wants Half Of $100k Raised For Starbucks Barista Who Wouldn’t Serve Her

It’s the audacity for me.

The California “Karen” who was denied service by a Starbucks employee who refused to serve her without a face mask, feels she deserves half of the $100,000 donations raised for him.

Karen AKA Amber Lynn Gilles, 35, had the nerve to complain about the 24-year old employee in a Facebook post last month. Apparently, she thought she would receive praise for ousting a picture of Lenin Gutierrez with a captioned rant that read, “Meet Ienen from Starbucks who refused to serve me cause I’m not wearing a mask. Next time I will wait for cops and bring a medical exemption,” she wrote on a post that has since been deleted.

But thanks to the good people that exist, her plan failed, and readers generously poured “tips” in the amount of $105,400 into the employee’s GoFundMe account. According to Kiro7, Gutierrez was complying with a San Diego public health order requiring masks inside businesses that day.

But now, Gilles wants in. According to a local Fox affiliate, Gilles said that she’s thinking about suing to collect half of the funds, claiming that she has underlying health issues that make her medically exempt from mask mandates, the New York Post reports.

“It was discrimination, and everybody is OK with it and enabling and rewarding that behavior,” Gilles said. “I get shortness of breath, dizziness, and it messes with the heartbeat,” she told the station. “And I do have asthma as well, and I do get mask-acne. So there’s several things going on, and not only that, but it doesn’t even work.”

In an attempt to prove herself, she brought two documents to the outlet. One was a 2015 pelvic exam that reported “probable exophytic fibroid arising from the anterior wall of the uterus measuring 2.9 cm size,” and “simple 2.5 cm left ovarian cyst.” And a second handwritten note on a letterhead from a local chiropractor, which read, “Amber has underlying breath conditions that prevent her from wearing a mask or any type of facial covering whatsoever. Please contact me if have any questions.”

Gilles requested to conceal the chiropractor’s name, who declined to comment on Gilles’s case when the outlet reached out for a statement. Gilles defended her use of the chiropractor note, saying, “They are dedicated to providing non-invasive personalized care and treatment. They are real doctors.”

Sadly, Gilles is not apologetic nor remorseful at all for her post. She has even created her own GoFundMe page with hopes for raising money for legal fees if she decides to sue.

“I feel like I need the apology,” she added. “I’ve been discriminated against; I’m the one who’s sick.”

Whew…. Girl bye!
