A mass shooting at an Arkansas car show left one person dead and at least 28 injured Saturday night.
Dumas Police Chief Keith Finch told reporters that they are investigating the possibility that there could have been multiple shooters. A person of interest was in custody as of Saturday night. Gov. Asa Hutchinson released a statement about the shooting, indicating that police are looking into at least a second suspect.

The Arkansas State Police are assisting the Dumas Police Department is investigating the incident. “One suspect is in custody, and a search is continuing today for others who may have been firing into the crowd,” the department said in a news release.
The shooting happened just after 7 p.m. on Saturday at a local car show. Dozens of people were injured when the shooter or shooters opened fire into the crowd.
Several of the victims included children, the youngest just 19 months old. According to the New York Post, the victims were taken to several area hospitals, and their conditions were not immediately known. At least two victims had to be airlifted from the parking lot.

Police have not released the suspect’s identity, only that the person is being held on unrelated charges. No additional information about the incident has been made public.
“We don’t really know what happened, but we just want to send our prayers to all of our friends in this community. We’re here with yall,” said event organizer Wallace McGehee.

He told KATV that the event has never had an issue in the 16 years it has been held. The event is an annual community event that raises money for school supplies and scholarships.
