Miami police are hunting for the group of gunmen who pulled out assault rifles and opened fire at a nightclub.
According to CNN, the assailants got out of a white Nissan Pathfinder in front of the El Mula Banquet Hall in Hialeah shortly after midnight and opened fire in yet another mass shooting.
Miami-Dade police director Alfredo Ramirez III explained that three people “stepped out of the vehicle with assault rifles and handguns and started firing indiscriminately into the crowd.”
Ramirez added, “The result is 20 to 25 victims with gunshot injury wounds, and two deceased on the scene.”
The banquet hall was hosting a Memorial Day Weekend album release party last night, which was set to feature live performances from local rappers, including ABMG Spitta.
Many of the wounded victims were transported to hospitals in the surrounding areas. At least one victim is reported to be in critical condition, police said.
“We believe this is a targeted act of gun violence,” Ramirez said. “This is a despicable act of gun violence, a cowardly act.”
“These are cold blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice. My deepest condolences to the family of the victims,” Ramirez tweeted.
Miami-Dade police ask anyone with any information about the shooting or the shooters to contact the authorities.
I am at the scene of another targeted and cowardly act of gun violence, where over 20 victims were shot and 2 have sadly died. These are cold blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice. My deepest condolences to the family of the victims.
