Match is launching a new dating app for single parents.
Single parents are getting some help with finding love in fellow single parents as Match Group has launched a new dating app called Stir.
Stir will cater to the specific needs of single parents who aren’t finding luck on mainstream dating apps, CNN Business reports.
Match Group, which owns Tinder, Match, Hinge, OKCupid and more, announced the news Monday, saying the new app comes after hearing the concerns of single parents.
“Every year, we survey and interview singles, and every year, we find the same recurring theme: single parents are having a hard time dating,” said Dinh Thi Bui, vice president of new verticals at Match Group, to CNN Business. “They felt stigmatized in the dating world, like it is a turn-off to disclose they have children. We also saw that single parents naturally gravitate towards other single parents because they didn’t have to explain their constraints as they were in the same stage of life.”
The app was launched on March 2, which is National Single Parent Day. It’s free to download through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The premium membership costs $89.99 for three months.
Some of the features the app includes is a time scheduler that allows Stir users will be able to compare their schedules with other single parents to see if they have the same free time. They can also ask singles questions about their values and personality, CNN Business reports.
