Mathew Knowles Would Love to See a Destiny’s Child Reunion but Says “it’s a Decision That the Ladies Would Have to Make”

There’s been plenty of pleas from fans wanting another album from Destiny’s Child, and Mathew Knowles is open to the idea.

Before his Business in Entertainment panel at the WealthFlix Entrepreneur Summit, Knowles spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the possible album.

“It’s a decision that the ladies would have to make,” Knowles, who served as a longtime manager for the group. “And I would certainly, certainly support that decision as I still manage Destiny’s Child. I would love to see that as well.”

Since the women disbanded in 2006, fans have longed for a reunion, and the experienced music executive understands the significant effect it would have on them.

“I think the fans will be just overjoyed, overwhelmed,” he added. “And hopefully they do one last time in their career. Hopefully they give us one last album. Who knows? You never know. You never say it can’t happen. Because this is entertainment. A lot of things can happen.”

Additionally, Knowles has maintained confidence in the ladies’ success since creating the group in 1990.

“If you don’t believe, who else is gonna believe? So it starts with you have to believe and you have to have the strategy,” Knowles said. “You have to have the talent. You have to have all the work ethics, being a visionary, all those things. There’s a lot of moving parts that bring success. We had the right record label, distribution, and partners like L’Oréal and Samsung. All those things is what brought about the success along with great songs.”

Furthermore, Knowles added that his initial vision for the group was to have a fanbase outside of Destiny’s Child.

“We strategized five years out in the beginning of these ladies’ career, where they will be, which is why they did their solo projects,” he adds. “Doing Destiny’s Child, that was not happenstance or luck, that was strategy that each one of them will build their own unique following. And their own unique base, come back together, Destiny’s Child, go back out as solo artists. That was all strategy.”

Throughout their professional journey, Destiny’s Child unveiled three albums that soared to the top of the charts, while each member subsequently achieved individual triumphs through solo endeavors. Despite going on their own paths, Knowles says he feels nothing but gratitude from the women.

“I’m grateful,” Knowles said. “I’m extremely grateful, because they work so hard for their dreams to come true. So you can only have gratitude. And that’s what I have.”
