Matthew Apperson, Man Who Shot George Zimmerman, Charged with Attempted Murder

Matthew Apperson did what a lot of people wanted to do, shot George Zimmerman, and for that he’s facing attempted murder charges. Anyone want to put money on his books?

Back in September Apperson had his first run-in with Zimmerman. It was an apparent “road rage” incident according to reports. On May 11th the two crossed paths again and it lead to Apperson non-fatally shooting Zimmerman. Apperson says he was just defending himself. Police charged Apperson with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and firing into a moving car. Attempted murder is the latest charge.

“My reaction to these charges is a pronounced shrug,” Apperson’s attorney, Michael LaFay, told CNN. “I’ve reviewed the charges and they don’t change the facts. The prosecutors have put their heads together and tried to contemplate what could be the most serious charges, but that doesn’t really change anything. This is a case of self-defense.”

Apperson is scheduled to be arraigned on June 23.

I say let the man go.
