A McDonald’s employee in Louisville, Kentucky, got so fed up with the drive-thru job that they closed up shop.
According to the Today Show, the disgruntled staffer put a paper sign up at the drive-thru monitor telling drivers that “We are closed because I am quitting and I hate this job.”
A customer snapped a photo of the sign while waiting in the drive-thru line and posted it on social media, causing the sign to go viral.
“I just see there and one of the monitors which had been not working for many weeks, that sign that was posted there, so I personally thought it was funny, so I took a picture, uploaded it to Twitter not thinking much of anything about it,” @GreatApeDad told Today Food. “And much to my surprise, it’s had quite a success,” the Twitter user said.
The Twitter user, who only wanted to go by his handle, explained that the restaurant was actually open by the time he had rolled through the drive-thru, but none of the staff had noticed the sign. He added that an employee explained to him that their night manager had quit and closed the restaurant early the evening before.
