McDonald’s To Bring Back Its Cheese Danish More Than 30 Years After Its Sudden Departure

McDonald’s is bringing back one of its most beloved treats from over three decades ago.

Just in time for Fall, the fast food chain will welcome its cheese danish back to menus nationwide. The pastry briefly debuted in the 1980s, according to NBC. However, Mickie D’s quickly snatched it from menus for reasons unknown. Now, the company is looking to present the dessert with an all-new spin to attract a new generation of cheese danish lovers. The flaky pastry is stuffed with cream cheese and topped with a light vanilla drizzle.

This latest delicacy joins other savory McCafé Bakery items such as the famous apple pies, cinnamon rolls, and apple fritters. While McCafé items are popular among the breakfast crowd, they are available in both the early morning and lunch menus.

This fresh take on the cheese danish will appear at McDonald’s locations beginning on September 14th. Though the company has not officially labeled the dessert as a limited edition item, they have confirmed that the danish is a part of the Fall lineup. Therefore, sweet lovers shouldn’t hesitate to get their hands on these nostalgic bakery goods.

If you decide to try the cheese danish, pairing it with any of McDonald’s coffee offerings is a great way to kick off your day.

Let us know what you think of the cheese danish. Did McDonald’s get it right this time?
