Meagan Good is moving in a positive direction following her divorce from her husband, DeVon Franklin.
This week, the 40-year-old actress was honored at the Hollywood Confidential event for her almost two-decades-long career. When speaking with PEOPLE, Good says she is content with who she is currently and is not phased by those who may not appreciate that. She also praised those in her close circle as she embraces her new single life.
“I’ve learned that not everybody’s going to get you or like you, and that’s okay. And knowing who your tribe is and being really thankful for that, and knowing sometimes they’re not your tribe. That’s okay too,” she stated.
The actress and her dating coach former husband called it quits after nine years together. The couple was said to have been separated for a while before publicly sharing their breakup. Rumors immediately swirled regarding why they parted ways, with some pointing to their lack of children, while others believed they split over the pressures of being a pastor’s wife. No matter the reason, the “Think Like a Man” star is choosing to remain optimistic.
“Life is not just short, it’s precious, and so I am just being really intentional about being present,” she declared.
