Meek Mill is finally explaining his famous bunny hop video.
The Philly rapper was filmed several years ago bunny-hopping on a tennis court in front of Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin. The billionaire initially posted the video on his Instagram Story, which led to Meek being dragged online once his fans caught wind of it. The “Championships” performer took to Twitter to share that the move was simply a playful activity he created while incarcerated.
“This a game I started from prison we used to make killers do bunny hops when they loss because it was too hostile for money… this be us!!! ima get Rubin to bunny hop for me okay lol ima teach him D thang hop,” he wrote.
The optics of the white billionaire making a Black man hop and “perform” angered fans but also made them clown Meek for seemingly wanting to be accepted by his non-Black counterparts. After explaining the true nature of the video, he then went on to slam those who have criticized him during other interesting career moments.
