The Grammy-winning rapper revealed the exciting project at DreamCon, dressed head-to-toe as Yoruichi Shihōin from “Bleach,” a nod to her longtime anime obsession.
Partnering with Carl Jones, best known for his work on “The Boondocks,” Megan teased, “You ain’t never seen an anime like this ever in your life.” While she kept further details under wraps, fans already know this project is bound to be bold, unique, and unapologetically Megan.
Megan’s anime fandom isn’t new. In 2020, she teamed up with Crunchyroll to drop an anime-inspired streetwear line, and in an interview, she described herself as “half anime character, half rapper.” She explained, “I like how you see a character…he might be a little weak, but he has to go through all this training…I apply that to my life a lot.”
Adding to her busy week, Megan also launched her 18-piece Hot Girl Summer swimwear line during PARAISO Miami Swim Week. The colorful and affordable collection, priced between $16 and $28, will be sold at Walmart and on Megan’s website.
“It was only right that we kick off Hot Girl Summer with this launch,” she said, calling it a full-circle moment given her childhood Walmart shopping trips.
Between anime dreams and poolside slays, Megan is making sure the Hotties stay booked and inspired.
