Megan Thee Stallion is not letting up on her former label, 1501 Certified Entertainment and is now calling in alleged exec Darien Smith to hand over critical label docs.
Things are heating up in court between the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper and 1501. In addition to claiming 1501 owes her money, Meg is also alleging that Smith, who is the boyfriend of Kelsey Harris, is holding vital information that can help her case. According to 1501 founder Carl Crawford, Smith is a contractor who manages one of the artists on the label. Crawford insists Smith is not an actual employee, though Meg begs to differ.
As part of the discovery process, Meg will subpoena Smith in the forthcoming trial against 1501. Meg believes that 1501 linked up with her former best friend and convinced her to release a diss track in the wake of the Tory Lanez shooting to tarnish her reputation. Harris was with both Lanez and Meg on the night of the gunfire and once admitted that she witnessed the Canadian singer shoot Meg. However, once on the stand, she told a different account of events, claiming she didn’t remember much of the incident.
1501 has previously claimed that Meg was going after the wrong Darien Smith in a simple case of mistaken identity. However, that is not stopping the Grammy Award winner from seeking the truth for herself. Smith appears to be still managing Erica Banks, despite her recently claiming to have left 1501 in light of new money woes.
Meg is demanding that Smith be deposed before the trial begins on August 7th.
