Another baby royal is on their way!
On Valentine’s Day, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared that baby Archie will soon bid farewell to his only child days.
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” a statement released by the couple read.
As many would put it, the couple’s rainbow baby will be the fifth grandchild of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana and the 10th great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II.
Details regarding the duchess pregnancy are unknown, as she purposely kept the news confidential because of the ongoing pandemic. But, the happy news comes months after she revealed she had suffered a miscarriage.
In July 2020, Meghan sincerely wrote of the “unbearable grief” she went through following her miscarriage.
“I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second,” she wrote in a piece for The New York Times. “Hours later, I lay in a hospital bed, holding my husband’s hand. I felt the clamminess of his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears. Staring at the cold white walls, my eyes glazed over. I tried to imagine how we’d heal.”
The miracle of baby no. 2 is “likely play a role in that path toward healing,” as Today puts it.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child,” the statement released by the couple continued.
The second child is also very much likely to be the couple’s last.
“Two, maximum!” Prince Harry told Jane Goodall in an interview in the September 2019 issue.
