During the highly anticipated interview of former royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Markle addressed the rumor that she made her sister-in-law Kate Middleton cry.
Prince Harry and his wife sat down with Oprah on Sunday to speak candidly about their experience as royals.
Included in that discussion was the allegation that Markle left Kate crying before the royal wedding. Apparently, the disagreement had to do with bridesmaid dresses.
“The reverse happened,” Meghan said.
Adding, “And I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone, because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something. But she owned it, and she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing.”
“I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details of that because she apologized,” she continued. “And I [had] forgiven her.”
What was puzzling to Markle was how the story about the disagreement went public months after the wedding.
“I would have never wanted that to come out about her ever, even though it happened,” she said, while also saying Kate was a good person.
“If you love me, you don’t have to hate her. And if you love her, you don’t have to hate me,” she said.
