Meghan McCain is letting it all out and spilling the tea. As we knew, things were never good between her and former The View co-hosts. But one person, in particular, rubbed the TV personality the wrong way, ultimately leading to her decision to quit the show.
Joy Behar was nasty towards McCain, and it was all caught on air! The day McCain returned to the show from maternity leave, Behar said she did not miss McCain.
McCain, 37, recalled on “The Commentary Magazine” podcast that Behar, 79, made her cry that day.
“I finally went back to the show, and the day I went back to the show, Joy Behar said on air, ‘Nobody missed you, we didn’t miss you, you shouldn’t have come back.”
She then added, “And I just … I started hysterically crying. Sorry gentlemen, I know, I started lactating on air, and I started crying.”
After the show, she went back to her office to throw up and call her brother, who convinced her it was time to leave the ABC show.
“I didn’t feel supported when I had my baby, and I didn’t feel supported coming back, and that was ultimately it,” she added. “That was why I left!”
McCain and Behar constantly went back and forth on the show, often arguing about politics. Since leaving the show in July 2021, McCain has been vocal about her experience on The View. She has had bad experiences with both Behar and Whoopi Goldberg, 66.
The conservative talk show host said, “The thing about Whoopi, though, is that she yields so much power in culture and television, and once she turns on you, it can create unfathomable tension at the table,” in her audio memoir, “Bad Republican.”
McCain was on The View for four years. It was recently announced that Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro will replace her on the ABC show.
